Walter de la Mare (1873-1956) was an acclaimed English writer best known for his works for children and for his poem ‘The Listener’. He won the James Tait Black Memorial Prixe in 1921 for his novel ‘Memoirs of a Midget’. His other poetry collections include ‘Peacock Pie’, ‘The Marionettes’, ‘Bless and Grass’, and ‘Inward Companion’.
