Heralded as one of Britain’s greatest writers since the Second World War, Ian McEwan has written screenplays, short stories, and prize-winning novels. He has been nominated for the Booker Prize five times (just one less than the record-holding nominees Margaret Atwood and Iris Murdoch) and won the prize for Amsterdam in 1998.

Several books have been adapted into acclaimed films, including The Innocent (1993), Enduring Love (2004), The Children Act (2017), On Chesil Beach (2017), and most successfully, Atonement (2007).
