Wilfrid Blunt, was an art teacher, writer, artist and a curator of the Watts Gallery in Compton, Surrey, from 1959 until 1983. He was a prolific writer and also the art master at Hailebury and Eton, and instrumental in reforming British children’s handwriting. He was one of the brothers of the notorious Cambridge Soviet Spy Anthony Blunt, about whom he added a postscript to the book.
