Half of the poems in this selection were written during 23 years spent in West and East Africa, India, South America and the Middle East. They reflect a wide and varied experience of many landscapes, peoples and cultures. The other half of the poems, written since 1978 and with an English background, are equally wide-ranging – covering a variety of subjects, including many of a personal, social and philosophical nature.
