Mr. Sponge’s Sporting Tour was written by Robert Smith Surtees, he is an English novelist and sporting writer. The Sporting novelist, a country gentleman of Durham, whom was in the business as a solicitor, but he is not success, started since 1831 for the Sporting Magazine. Then he took to writing sporting novels, which the illustrator was created by John Leech. Among them are Mr. SpongeÕs Sporting Tour (Hillingdon Hall), Ask Mamma, Plain or Ringlets, and Mr. Facey RomfordÕs Hounds, which was published in March 1864 following his death on that year.
