John Pearson (1613-1686) was an English clergyman in the seventeenth century, regarded as one of the most erudite theologians of the era, becoming Lady Margaret’s Professor of Divinity at Cambridge as well as Master of Jesus College and then Trinity College, before becoming Bishop of Chester.
